Scott’s American Indian mother once gave him a special charm that had been made and blessed by a medicine man. This charm, or talisman, was intended to protect the bearer. One of the elements of this talisman was the medicine wheel. Its special power was not innate, but came from being blessed by the man who made it. In a similar fashion, the transformation of grapes into wine comes about due to the hand of the winemaker.
The Talisman logo is a stylized representation of the medicine wheel, whose elements represent the circle of life and the four directions, reminding us of our place in the universe. The rays around the logo represent the sun, which provides energy for life on earth and ripens grapes, allowing us to revel in the pleasures of life, including fine wine.
