Dawson Vineyard is located in the heart of Sonoma’s Los Carneros AVA with three acres of Pinot Noir grapes in clay loam soils. The vineyard enjoys the cool wind from the San Pablo Bay and Pacific Ocean, which creates a uniquely moderate climate of warm summer days and cool, foggy nights. This perfect weather lends itself beautifully to a long growing season—and it’s great for producing excellent Pinot Noir grapes.
After a great deal of research and consulting with many soils experts, viticulturists and local farmers, French Dijon clones (#’s 115 and 667) and Pommard rootstock (#’s 1103P and 3309) were selected to plant the best crop at the farm. It is a certified Sonoma County Sustainable vineyard, and Jean and Tom take pride in developing the farm with practices that respects the environment.
The first time the grapes were transformed into a bottle was in 2015, launching the inaugural Talisman Rosé label.
